Birmingham High Performance Centre

Located next to Alexander Stadium, the High Performance Centre offers state of the art indoor training facilities for athletes of all ages and abilities. The Centre was opened by Richard Caborn, Minister of State for Sport, on 6 February 2003.

Athletes can take advantage of the training facilities available at the Centre all year round. There are dedicated community time slots available, including 1pm to 3.30pm Monday to Friday, ideal for schools usage. Please contact Alexander Stadium reception on 0121 464 8008 for further details.

The 132-metre-long training hall houses:

  • an eight-lane, 110-metre sprint track
  • long jump, high jump and triple-jump pits
  • a pole-vault bed
  • a throws practice area for all disciplines.

For elite athletes, there is also a fully equipped gym, a medical support suite and a recovery area.
