Bournville Village Conservation Area Design Guide - Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPG)
Bournville Village is known internationally as an excellent example of the English Garden City movement. To protect its special character, we first designated it a conservation area in 1971.
This Design Guide is intended to give residents practical advice and information to help make repairs and improvements to properties, whilst maintaining the character of the area.
This is particular important as the properties are affected by extra planning controls because of the conservation area status. This document therefore also lists the types of alterations you will need planning permission for.
A copy of the document is below and includes a map showing the extent of the area covered by the document. Find out more about the conservation area and its boundary here.
