Development Involving Former Public Houses - Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPG)
This planning policy document contains guidance for anyone wishing to change the use or redevelop a former public house. It identifies eight criteria against which planning applications for such uses will be considered. They include
- impact of the pub's loss on the community
- the nature and proximity of adjacent land uses
- highway considerations
The document was adopted as Supplementary Planning Guidance in 1992.
