Affordable Housing - Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPG)
The Affordable Housing SPG was prepared to help encourage different types of housing on new housing developments in the city, to suit all needs. This document provides both detailed affordable housing policies and practical information to help developers when preparing planning applications for such schemes.
Affordable housing can include properties for private or housing association rent, as well as subsidised low cost market housing, such as shared ownership. Some affordable properties are required on most developments of 15 dwellings or over.
Please Note : This threshold was originally 25 dwellings or over - as stated in this document - but was lowered to 15 or over in 2006.
This document was adopted as Supplementary Planning Guidance in September 2001 (threshold amended in 2006)
Document Status : Statutory Policy Document - Adopted September 2001 - (threshold amended in 2006)
