Sheldon Country Park

Recreation - The farm has a unique charm, and visitors from all sections of the community will be warmly welcomed by the staff and volunteers. The farm is open to visitors every day throughout the year and admission is free. Expect to see all the usual farm animals and of course our Jersey herd.

Playground - there is a children's playground located adjacent to the car park accessed from the main entrance off Ragley Drive.

Airport Viewing Area - Birmingham International Airport borders onto the park so if you're interested in seeing aeroplanes close up you can visit our designated viewing area. It lies approximately a quarter of a mile away from the farm buildings and can only be accessed on foot (no motor vehicles).

There is plenty of open space across the 300 acre site for general recreation, along with 3 marked football pitches.

Refreshments - The Rectory Tea Room is open all year round - seven days a week during the summer months and weekends only during the winter (school holidays are usually catered for).

Rectory Lawn Picnic Area - The lawn in front of the Rectory building is the ideal place to have a picnic on a fine summers day.

Events - The Ranger Service holds a number of events throughout the year. These include guided tours of the farm, monthly rambles and craft sessions such as "How to build a bird box." For more information about attending a Ranger led event please follow this link.

Walk 2000 Route

Walks - There are many informal areas which are conservation managed, with designed walks and some formal pathways.
2km and 5km Routes - The Sheldon Country Park Route and the East Birmingham Cycle Route form part of the routes pathway through the park, entering at both Marston Green Railway Station and at Bell Lane.

Toilets - Full toilet facilities are available and can be found close to the main farm building. For more information on accessibility and suitability please refer to the DisabledGo website link in the section below.
