Welcome from the Executive Member & Service Integration Head
Birmingham City Council aims to involve local people and their communities in the future of their local area and it's public services---A city with local services for local people. At the heart of how we mean to do this is the District which is to be made responsible for managing many more public services enabling greater local involvement in the range of choices made about services, and their quality. We will continue to target services to meet local needs and meet standards set for the City as a whole.
These local services will be delivered to the residents through our existing and new emerging, partnerships with local communities, local businesses, third sector organisations, police, fire service, providers of health and well being services, community groups and street champions. We will continue to strive to ensure that local residents live in well maintained neighbourhoods which are clean and allow residents to feel safe and proud to say they live inNorthfield.
The District will seek to improve year on year, even in these difficult financial times, and intend to achieve this by listening to residents, engaging their involvement and help, and agreeing plans to deliver the improvements in the public services that it is responsible for.
