All about me

I first moved to Kings Norton, where I live now, in 1971, then ran businesses for multinational companies all round Britain, as well as in Singapore and Australia, before returning to Birmingham 14 years ago. Previously I headed the faculty of technology for Birmingham City University, and now I am a non-executive Director of the NHS mental health Trust for Birmingham and Solihull.

I am Chair of Governors of one school and deputy Chair at another, as well as a trustee of two educational charities.

Originally I trained as a Chemical Engineer, and I have a doctorate in Management. I use my many years of senior management experience by helping the Council owned companies, Acivico and Service Birmingham, to become more efficient and to provide better services.

I am a widower with two children and eight grandchildren. All the work I do now is to help other people lead worthwhile, healthy and fulfilling lives.

My aims for Brandwood are to improve the quality of life for everyone by improving the environment and prospects for employment.
