Sutton Coldfield Local Studies

Update January 2012 - Local History Service

Whilst Sutton Coldfield Library is closed, a limited Local History service is available. Enquiries can be made by letter or phone call to any community library, or by email to sutton.coldfield.reference.lib@birmingham.gov.uk

August 2007 was the 50th anniversary of the World Scout Jubilee Jamboree, which was held in Sutton Park from the 1st to the 12th August 1957. Find out more about the Jamboree.

The local studies section at Sutton Coldfield Reference Library has a comprehensive collection of information relating to Sutton Coldfield past, present and future and to a lesser degree information about the surrounding areas.

You can find a brief history of Sutton Coldfield on this site, including information about Bishop Vesey.

The collection includes printed and unpublished books, original materials, genealogical resources, local newspapers, periodicals, videos, photographs and maps.

The service is available to all ages and the staff will help people with their research
