Roz Goddard

Roz is an experienced workshop leader and teaches creative writing at Birmingham University. She currently works with West Midlands Libraries as Poet-in-Residence for the Poetry on Loan project, helping people to develop their confidence as readers as well as writers of poetry.

Her collection, Girls in the Dark, was published by Dagger in 2002. Roz says, love to give Birmingham a national poetry profile with poems that are confident and bold. Let us be recognised for the talent we have in this, exciting vibrant place.

The announcement was made by Cllr. Ian Ward, Cabinet Member for Leisure, Sport and Culture, seen here with Roz and John Dolan, Assistant Director, Libraries and Information Services.

It was the climax of an enjoyable reunion of former Poet Laureates held in the Level 3 Foyer at Symphony Hall on National Poetry Day, October 9th 2003.
