Library Enterprise Clubs

Enterprise Clubs are a free service to help unemployed people get started in business or some form of self employment, using local knowledge and resources.

They can help local communities to become more prosperous by encouraging private sector growth Businesses can be part time or under 16 hrs, run from home or just earning an extra income from your talents. .

Enterprise Clubs provide unemployed people interested in self-employment with a place to meet and exchange skills, make contacts, share experiences, receive support and encourage each other to work through their business ideas

The two-hour sessions, often run in partnership with other agencies, provide self help resources that include visiting experts, small business profiles, free websites, information, templates, funding sources and computer access in order to develop business ideas.

Library staff can help signpost customers to other services not supplied on site, including business skills courses, one to one advisers, and specialist services.

Individuals are always welcome to use free library resources to help them start and grow in business on a daily drop in basis.

Our Business Insight service starts over 1000 new businesses in Birmingham every year.
