Dream Team - A poem by Matt Windle

Matt Windlewas the Young Poet Laureate for Birmingham 2007-2008

Footie fun from Matt with his ultimate Dream Team.

Dream Team

My dream team that's a hard one to choose
But the ground they'd be playing at is St Andrews
The shorts will be white and the top will be blue
And in goal I'd have Peter Schmeichel
Keeping them out we'll win the title
Then right back I'd have Cafu
He'll tread on your toes if he has to
Centre back Nesta and Jap Stam
Them together you know they're the man
Roberto Carlos is my left back
Good defender also good in attack
Giggs on the left well no body can test
But who wants to see that gorilla like chest
Centre mid Kaka and Zidane
Then on the right the mighty Beckham
Crossing to Shevchenko at AC Milan
Next to him I'd have Eto'o
When he has the ball the crowd shouts shoot
I'd have more than 11 if I could
But now I've got to tell you my subs
Second choice goalie is David Seaman with his pony tale
But stay on your line or dreams might go stale
Maldini won't always stay on his feet
But he plays a part in keeping a clean sheet
Attacking midfield Leonel Messi
If I was him no one could test me
Ronaldo's back up from united
For some reason he gets girls excited
Then up front Ronaldinho
That's not his real name it means little Ronaldo
And just so I can finish the beat
The manager of course is Alex Mcleish
