Birmingham Archives & Heritage Service

Services are changing again from 12 December 2011

Revised Opening Arrangements - Phase Two

In order to prepare for the move to the new Library of Birmingham further changes are being made to the way we deliver our service.

Following consultation with our users earlier this year, we found a way to avoid the complete closure of floors 4 to 6. We now find it necessary to make some further changes starting on 12 December 2011.

The opening hours of the Central Library will be 10am - 6pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 5pm on Saturday. Floors 4 to 6 will now be closed on Mondays,Tuesdays and Saturdays.

For the users of the Birmingham Archives & Heritage Service, this will mean the following will apply:

Opening hours for floor 6 open access counter

Wednesday 10am – 8pm
Thursday 10am – 6pm
Friday 10am – 6pm

It is not necessary to make an appointment to visit the open access area of floor 6, but we recommend that you book microfilm and microfiche readers in advance of a visit.
