What is on the catalogue?

The catalogue contains information about the archive collections that are held on the 6th floor of Birmingham Central Library. The archives we hold, which have been designated by the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council (MLA) as being of national and international significance, include both original and printed records relating to the city of Birmingham, its people, businesses, institutions and societies. These include business records, letters, diaries, maps, drawings, photographs, films, sound and oral history recordings, title deeds, legal papers, as well as the records of societies, churches, schools and institutions of all kinds.

There are 334 catalogues (some 34000 catalogue entries) available for you to search on the online catalogue. This is by no means all our collections (about 5.5% of them at this stage), but we will be adding to it all the time so please do check for new releases.
