Ozzy Osbourne
Ozzy Osbourne was born John Michael Osbourne on December 3, 1948, in Aston. His career has so far spanned three decades. He first became famous as the co-founder, lead singer, and songwriter for the heavy metal band Black Sabbath (1970-79). Black Sabbath has sold more than 25 million records in the U.S. alone. In 1979, Osbourne left the band to embark on a highly successful solo career. As a solo artist, Osbourne has sold more than 35 million records worldwide.
After a few years out of the limelight, Osbourne is currently enjoying a revival in popularity following the success of his "fly-on-the-wall" TV series "The Osbournes", which followed the lives of Ozzy and his family. It became the highest rated original program in MTV's 24-year history. Ozzy's daughter Kelly has followed in her father's footsteps and is also enjoying chart success.
