Access to Finance


Current funding may be available from the following programmes, depending on the size of your business and the eligibility criteria.

New ERDF funding opportunities are now available for businesses in Tyseley, Jewellery Quarter, Digbeth, North and East Birmingham.

The Business Development Programme supports existing small to medium sized enterprises through a Financial Assistance Scheme and /or a Coaching and Mentoring Programme.

The Green Bridge Supply Chain Programme is a new competition for existing supply chain companies to develop their businesses within the green sector across the West Midlands.

The Business Innovation Programme - is a new programme of funding available to help SMEs undertake investment in innovative production processes in the West Midlands area.


The Start Up Loans Programme provides low-cost, unsecured loans of up to £10k to Birmingham entrepreneurs looking to start up their own business.

Business Loan Fund - launched in January 2010, this groundbreaking initiative offers a £10 million package of loans to small and medium businesses (SMEs) based in Birmingham. The loan fund supports a diverse range of solid profitable Birmingham companies, which have previously been unable to access funding.

Equity Fund - launched In June 2011, this £10m fund is open to local companies that can demonstrate a two-year trading track record.

Aston Reinvestment Trust (ART)- provides loans of between £10,000 and £100,000 to entrepreneurs looking to create sustainable new businesses and existing businesses, including social enterprises, in Birmingham.

Creative Advantage Fund - is a Birmingham-based venture capital fund for the creative industries in the West Midlands.

Advanced Manufacturing Supply Chain Initiative (AMSCI)- is a national programme that consists of a combination of grants and loans.
