Revised Housing Allocation Scheme: Have Your Say
The way council and other social housing in the city is allocated is changing – and we would like to hear your views on the new proposals.
In Birmingham , there are many more people who need a home, or existing tenants who want to move home, than there are properties available through the council and its partner housing associations.
So the current scheme for allocating social housing – which has been in operation since 2009 – needs to be updated so people waiting for a home are not left with unrealistic expectations.
Feedback from users of the current scheme has also suggested that the point-based system used to assess housing need is too complicated.
So we can make sure it is an effective and fair method for allocating homes, please take a look at our revised Housing Allocation Scheme and let us know what you think by filling in our questionnaire.
