Revised Housing Allocation Scheme: Have Your Say
The consultation on the new Housing Allocation Scheme has now closed
In Birmingham, there are many more people who need a home, or existing tenants who want to move home, than there are properties available through the council and its partner housing associations.
The current scheme for allocating social housing – which has been in operation since 2009 – needs to be updated so people waiting for a home are not left with unrealistic expectations.
Feedback from users of the current scheme has also suggested that the point-based system used to assess housing need is too complicated.
We asked members of the public and housing professionals to let us know what they thought of our proposed new Housing Allocation Scheme. The consultation ended on 17 February 2014. The results will be published on our consultation website www.birminghambeheard.org.uk
