Core Strategy (Draft)
Following publication of the National Planning Policy Framework in April 2012 and changes to the regulations we no longer need plans to be called Core Strategy. The plan has therefore been renamed the Birmingham Development Plan, as this better reflects the purposes of the plan
Our draft Core Strategy aimed to provide a 20 year framework for sustainable growth in Birmingham, with proposals to provide 50,600 new homes and deliver 100,000 new jobs by 2026.
Consultation on the draft Strategy closed in March 2011 and we have analysed the responses. A revised Strategy has been produced, the Birmingham Development Plan.
