Animal Welfare Licensing

The Animal Welfare Team, through education and law enforcement, seeks to maintain high animal welfare standards throughout the city in respect of both pet and commercially traded animals.
All licences have conditions attached and it is an offence to operate a business without a licence. Licence application forms are attached to the relevant web page[s] as follows :-

Pet Shops
Dog Breeding Establishments
Animal Boarding Establishments
Dangerous Wild Animal Keepers
Exhibitors/Trainers of Performing Animals
Horse Riding Establishments
Zoos

In the case of movements of livestock such as cattle, sheep, goats, pigs and deer (with certain exceptions) animal movement licence forms (AML 1s) and full guidance can be found on the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Website at:
