Public Register of Environmental Information - Environmentally Sensitive Areas
The Environmentally Sensitive Areas (ESA) Scheme offers voluntary agreements to farmers within 22 designated areas of England in exchange for farming in an environmentally friendly way. Agreements constitute 10 years binding contracts between the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAFF) and farmers, with a five year break point.
The Council's Local Land Charges Registry would record the existence of any ESA agreement as a land charge registered on that particular piece of land and you should contact that section direct for more information.
