Leisure and Open Space Studies

Land Use Information Banner

A number of studies have been undertaken in relation to green infrastructure, including play and open spaces and other leisure facilities. These help us plan for the future in our Planning Policy Documents.

Green Living Space (2012)

In December 2012, we published a draft Green Living Strategy setting out our approach to green infrastructure and open space within Birmingham. This document complements the existing Parks and Open Spaces Strategy.

Playing Pitch Strategy (2011)

This document provides a detailed assessment of sports facilities across the 10 constituencies in Birmingham, looking at demand and provision in each area. It then focuses on key priorities and recommendations as a result of the assessment.

Leisure Study (2004)

We commissioned a Leisure Survey in 2004 to examine the uses of open spaces and leisure facilities across the city, and the factors that influence their use.
