Birmingham City Council

Authority Monitoring Report

Each year we produce an Authority Monitoring Report (AMR) (previously called an Annual Monitoring Report) which reviews progress on implementing the planning policies in the Local Development Framework and on preparing new documents in the Local Development Scheme.

The AMR includes

  • key factual information about population, social and cultural, environmental, economic, housing, transport and other issues
  • an assessment of performance against a set of indicators identified in Government guidance, which all councils monitor
  • a report on how the adopted plans and policies in the Local Development Framework are being implemented and
  • a progress report on the preparation of new planning policy documents.

Copies of the last four years' reports are below.

We also collect and update a range of information relating to development in the city through the annual development summary and provide information on land for future development in Birmingham.
