Kings Heath Local Action Plan
The Kings Heath Local Action Plan aims to guide future development in Kings Heath and includes areas in Moseley & Kings Heath and Brandwood wards.
The Plan sets out a range of policies and proposals that aim to bring about improvements to the Kings Heath local centre and surrounding residential areas in particular. It will be used to encourage inward investment, bid for new resources and guide improvements and new development.
The main aims of the plan are:
- To maintain and strengthen the status of Kings Heath as the largest local centre in South Birmingham
- To improve the local environment and make Kings Heath more attractive and safer for all
- To guide future investment and development to maintain the area's competitiveness
- To combat traffic congestion
The Local Action Plan was adopted as a Supplementary Planning Document in January 2006. A copy is below along with a plan showing the area covered by the proposals. We apologise for the quality of the images.
Please note that the retail core boundary in the document has now been superseded by the Shopping and Local Centres SPD, adopted in March 2012.
