Check if you're Registered to Vote


In order to appear on the Register of Electors (or "Voter's Roll"), you must complete an application form, asking for your name to be added onto the Register of Electors, and providing some personal information in order to confirm that you are eligible.

Anyone who is 16 or over, living in Birmingham, and a British, Irish, Commonwealth or EU citizen is entitled to register to vote.

It is not possible to check online whether you are registered on the Electoral Register, but if you contact the Elections Office, we will be able to confirm whether or not you are registered.

  • The full version of the current Register of Electors is available to inspect at the Elections Office during office hours. This is the only place in the city where it is available to inspect.

    The register is published in street order, rather than in name order, within the 40 wards in Birmingham. Therefore it is very difficult and time-consuming if you are looking for a person without having an idea of where they live.

    There is no need to make an appointment in order to view the register of electors, but there is a requirement to complete a form giving your details when you come to our office for our records.
