Birmingham City Council

Arts Champions Scheme

Birmingham City Council has teamed up with Arts Champions organisations to let Birmingham residents get closer to the city’s world-class arts offerings. Birmingham Arts organisations (the Arts Champions) act as advocates for the arts sector giving advice and support within the community to promote and deliver new activities.

The Arts Champions Scheme is a groundbreaking arts initiative that gets Birmingham arts organisations such as Birmingham Royal Ballet, the CBSO, the REP and Sampad working with residents in their local area.

REMEMBER FOLKS...
ARTS CHAMPIONS...THEY'RE ACTIVE IN YOUR AREA!!!

To ensure wider access to the full range of world class arts for Birmingham’s communities the major arts organisations will change geographic focus every 3 years to harmonise with Constituency planning timescales. New partnership arrangements were agreed and took place from April 2011, allowing a year’s legacy planning for current relationships and adequate handover time for the new champions.
