Adaptations and equipment for your home
This page is known as http://www.birmingham.gov.uk/home-equipment
Aids, adaptations and equipment to help you in your home
If you have difficulty getting around your home, we might be able to help.
All Birmingham residents, over the age of 18, who are elderly or have a physical disability that makes it hard to use or move around their home, are entitled to a free needs assessment.
This means that one of our Occupational Therapists will visit you in your home to assess your needs and provide advice. They can also recommend and order equipment to help you in your home.
Equipment to help the elderly and disabled could include a stairlift, grab rails, handrails along paths, walk-in shower and bath, access ramps, entrance light at front and back door, and more.
How to contact us
The Adults and Communities Access Point (ACAP) is the first point of contact for our Occupational Therapists.
You can telephone ACAP on 0121 303 1234
Or you can email us at ACAP@birmingham.gov.uk
Our service is changing and if you are interested in getting involved with helping us to provide improved services to help all of our users, we would be pleased to hear from you.
Please contact us on 0121 303 1234 for more information.
