Birmingham Shared Lives - Recruiting Shared Lives Carers Now!

Would you like to have an income from working at home? Do you like having company at home? Would you be able to support an adult who needs extra help on a short term or long term basis?

Birmingham Shared Lives need individuals and families who would welcome someone into their home, who have some time and enthusiasm to support a particular person. Shared Lives Carers are self employed and can say who they would like to work with.

Shared Lives Carers provide support for people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health issues, and older people in the carer’s own family home. This can be for any length of time from a few hours or a few weeks to long term.

The aim of the service is to enable people to remain living in the community, promote their independence and offer respite to informal carers.

Birmingham Shared Lives want to hear from you if you have over one years experience of supporting vulnerable adults to live a full and active life, plus a spare bedroom. Birmingham Shared lives are especially interested in hearing from you if you have a spare room on the ground floor or a ready adapted property.

You will earn a modest wage and can have up to 3 people living with you. You will also have continuous support and monitoring from our team.
