Birmingham set to achieve government's decent homes target

Birmingham City Council has invested £673 million* of its own money to support major improvements to council homes across the city, and is on course to meet the Government’s Decent Homes Target.

Birmingham City Council’s Cabinet Member for Housing, Cllr John Lines, today told the Communities and Local Government Inquiry into Decent Homes that the council is on course to achieve the government’s Decent Homes Standard target by 2010, despite an absence of government funding to support its programme.
