Brum triumphs in older adults awards

Two of Birmingham’s cabinet members have been honoured for their work with older people in the 2009 UK Over 50s Housing Awards in London. Councillor Sue Anderson receives the award for Most Outstanding Adults and Communities Cabinet Member, while Councillor John Lines gains the title of Most Outstanding Housing Executive.


Councillor Sue Anderson, Cabinet Member for Adults and Communities, comments:


"I am delighted to receive this award in recognition of the sterling work that we are doing in Birmingham to meet the needs of our growing older population."


Councillor John Lines, Cabinet Member for Housing, adds:


"Today’s award reflects the progress the city is making in driving forward plans to deliver real housing choices for our older people, particularly through the development of our retirement villages."
