A Birmingham Legend Rediscovered

Dorothy Howell

Composer and Pianist 1898 – 1982

The exhibition will run until 16 October 2010

The talented 21 year old girl took London’s musical public by storm and Henry Wood was so charmed by the work that he performed it three more times that season.

This display of rare photographs, correspondence and memorabilia, made available by the family for the first time, gives a fascinating insight into the life and works of a significant local figure who was an invaluable source of knowledge, fun and musical inspiration to those around her until her death in 1982.
