View Planning Application Files
Anyone can view and receive copies of planning documents.
Documents and plans associated with applications received from January 2006 are available electronically on Planning Online.
- If you have your reference number, use the application number search
- if you don't have the reference, use the general application search
Documents and plans associated with applications received before January 2006 are available in hard copy format or microfilm. Please contact us to book an appointment to view an older application.

- The planning reference number is helpful for all requests.
- Architects permission is usually required for paper copies of plans. This must be available for us to progress your request.
- Plans and documents for applications registered after January 2006 are available on Planning Online.
- Plans and documents for applications registered before January 2006 are available for inspection in hardcopy format or on microfilm at our offices. See below for further details.

For applications before January 2006 the file must be reserved. We will then contact you to arrange a date for file inspection. We will hold files for no longer than 7 days. You can come in and view the file on our systems. Some of our older documents are only available on microfilm. A staff member will be present to assist you. Please contact us to reserve a file.

There is no charge for most of our documents.

No – Planning application files are available for public inspection and copies available on request, without going through the formal FoI procedure.
