This April we are giving you the opportunity to try our classes for free! Our leisure centres will be hosting taster class events, why not come along and try something different. With over 500 classes a week, there is always something new to try. Why not get your heart rate going in Body Combat or slow it down with some Pilates. Aegon Classic Tennis, 9-15 June 2014

Edgbaston Priory Club

The Aegon Classic is back in Birmingham, bigger and better than ever. Now a WTA Premier level tournament, the Aegon Classic is one of the top 21 WTA events worldwide attracting many of the world’s top female tennis players. With past champions such as Billie Jean King and Maria Sharapova, the event will see some of the world’s best grace the superb grass courts in the intimate setting of the Edgbaston Priory Club.

British Athletics Championships, 27th – 29th June 2014 / Birmingham Grand Prix & IPC Grand Prix Final, 24th & 25th August 2014

Birmingham Alexander Stadium

The world’s best athletes will return to the West Midlands as Birmingham’s Alexander Stadium prepares to stage a series of athletics events throughout the summer.

Kicking off on 27-29 June, the Sainsbury’s British Championships will see the best in the country go head-to-head in a bid to be crowned British Champion and cement their places on the GB & NI team for the European Championships in Zurich.

Closing the outdoor season in style will see the prestigious IAAF Diamond League return to Birmingham for the Sainsbury’s Birmingham Grand Prix on Sunday 24 August. Double Olympic and world champion Mo Farah and world champion Christine Ohuruogu were just two of the highlights from last year and the box office attractions look set to return once again this summer.

A day later will see the world’s best Paralympic athletes return for the Sainsbury’s IPC Grand Prix Final. After its successful initiation last year, some of the stars that lit up the London 2012 Paralympic Games will return to the create more memories in an action packed Bank Holiday weekend of world-class athletics.

Great Birmingham Run, 19th October 2014


The Bupa Great Birmingham Run is the biggest half marathon in the Midlands, and the second biggest half marathon in the UK.

The 2014 event is expected to expect to attract 20,000 competitors from across the UK and around the world. The course takes in some of the city's most iconic sights and thousands of supporters turn out to cheer finishers across the line on Broad Street in the city centre.
