Skips Placed on the Public Highway
A skip permit is required to place a skip on the highway (public road), but is not required if the skip is to be placed on private property.
Only Registered Skip Operators will be able to apply for skip permits on behalf of their customers. Therefore, it will not be possible for members of the public to apply for skip permits themselves.
Register as a Skip Operator with Birmingham City Council.
If you are already a Registered Skip Operator, you can apply for a skip permit now.
An information pack was sent to all known skip operators during March 2010 informing of the new changes to procedures and the new charges which will be introduced with effect from the 1 April 2010.
If you have a complaint or concern about the location or safety of a skip on the highway or believe the skip has not been permitted, please contact us.
