The following Calls for Evidence have been launched...
Education and Vulnerable Children O&S Committee at 9.30am on Wednesday 26th February in rm 151, Council House.
The committee will be continuing to gather evidence for its inquiry into Child Sexual Exploitation.The Committee will be hearing from Jane Held, the Chair of the Birmingham Children's Safeguarding Board, SuperIntendant Tim Bacon, Head of the Public Protection Unit and Liz Murphy, Chair of the West Midlands strategic group on CSE.
Governance, Resources & Customer Services O&S Committee at 10am Friday 7 March 2014
Members will return to the Inquiry on Children and Families with No Recourse to Public Funds to see what progress has been made against the recommendations. The Committee will also consider whether to agree a new way forward on Member Development and Training.
Social Cohesion & Community Safety O&S Committee, Tuesday 11th March 2014 – 2.00 pm, Committee Rooms 2, The Council House
The Cabinet Member for Social Cohesion and Equalities and the Cabinet Member for Green, Safe and SMART City will present their annual update to the Committee. Members will also receive updates on the Social Inclusion Process and how the Police and other partners are working to tackle knife crime. In addition Councillor Jess Phillips in her role as Vice-Chair of the West Midlands Police and Crime Panel will give an update on the work of the panel in the last municipal year and future priorities.
Birmingham Economy and Jobs O&S Committee at 2pm on 13th March 2014 in Committee Rooms 3 & 4 Members will be receiving the annual update from the Cabinet Member, Development, Jobs and Skills and Kate Canty, Chair of the Birmingham Employment and Skills Board will be discussing the work of the Board. In addition Members will be discussing the quarterly progress report on worklessness.
Partnerships, Contract Performance and Third Sector O&S Committee, Monday 17th March 2014 – 10.00 am, Committee Room 2, The Council House The Committee will be receiving a report on the work that the City Council is doing to engage partners in the private, public and third sector to sign up to the Business Charter for Social Responsibility that was launched in April 2013. The charter aims to boost the local economy by maximising social value the Council obtains from its £1billion purchasing power by reforming the authority’s procurement strategy. A number of signatories have been invited to the meeting to give their views on the how they will be implementing the charter values in their respective organisations.
Education & Vulnerable Children O&S Committee 2pm 19th March 2014 The Leader of the Council, Sir Albert Bore will be attending the committee to talk to members about the role of the Performance and Adoption Monitoring Board. Peter Hay, Strategic Director, Peoples Directorate will be providing members with an update on Children's Social Care.
Transport, Connectivity and Sustainability O&S Committee, 14 March at 10am in Committee Room 6 The Committee will be discussing the annual updates from the Cabinet Member for Development, Jobs and Skills and the Cabinet Member for Green, Safe and Smart City.

Health & Social Care O&S Committee 10am Wednesday 26th March 2014
The Committee will be hearing from
1) The Birmingham Cross City Clinical Commissioning Group with regards to their End of Life Strategy for Birmingham
2) The New Birmingham Dental Hospital who will be providing us with an update as to progress made to date.
3) Officers at Birmingham City Council will be providing items on the Dementia Strategy, the Birmingham Adult Safeguarding Board Annual Report 2012/13 and also Delayed Transfers of Care
