How Do I Apply for Planning Permission ?
The best way to apply is online application via the Planning Portal. Submitting your application this way makes the registration and consultation process more efficient and faster.

Every application must be accompanied by the correct fee. The Government sets the Planning Application Fees that apply across the country.
How to pay for your planning application?

- Cheque payment by post
Information we need with your planning application
For every application it is important that you provide us with all the correct information and plans and ensure that the correct certificates are completed. In order to help you assess what information and plans may be required for your application we have produced a checklist of information requirements.
These validation checklists set out details of the different types of information you should provide when submitting a planning application.
Please read the advice carefully because if you fail to provide information that is deemed necessary for your application we will not validate your submission until all the information has been received.
Preparing your Application Plans
You can submit your application yourself provided you can prepare any technical drawings and supporting statements required. You may like to use a suitably qualified agent as many poorly prepared applications are declared invalid and are delayed, or refused planning permission.
Ordnance Survey Plan
You are required to provide a location plan showing the application site at a scale of 1:1250. This is usually provided on an Ordnance Survey Plan and can be purchased through the Planning Portal's Buy a Plan service or through our local suppliers.
Equalities Monitoring Form
It would help us when submitting your Planning Application if you could complete our Equalities Monitoring form so we can check there is a fair planning process for all. Monitoring is essential if we are to address the needs of all sections of the community. It will help us fulfil the Government’s aim to build sustainable and inclusive communities and to reduce social exclusion. This form is available here
