Citizens - 'Have Your Say and Make a Contribution'
The Council is committed to embracing modern technologies and enabling citizens to make the most of the digital age.
The City Council on 14 October 2008, agreed to introduce an e-petitions facility, which will provide an additional mechanism to strengthen and broaden citizen's access and participation in democratic decision-making by the City Council.
Petitions will be managed in accordance with the City Council's Guidance, which is available on the e-petitions site.
The new facility incorporates both paper and electronic petitions. Monthly progress reports of petitions submitted will be received by the City Council, which already accepts a large number of paper petitions from Councillors on behalf of local residents.
Details on this and other European projects can be obtained on the European Commission Information Society - e-participation website.
We welcome your feedback on the new on-line engagement facility, managed by Democratic Services and supported by Service and Digital Birmingham. Please email: E-petitions@birmingham.gov.uk
