Who Can Use The Service ?
The service is available to residents of Birmingham who are physically unable to visit their local library due to disability, illness, mobility or frailty. The service is also available to carers who are unable to visit their local library due to their individual circumstances.
What Kind Of Service Is Offered?
A member of staff will deliver a monthly supply of books to your home. Careful records are kept of readers' current likes and interests in order to help with the selection.
As well as ordinary print books, we supply the following:
- Large Print Books

Talking Books (for people with sight difficulties)

Jigsaws
- Magazines (both general interest and specialist titles)
- Community Information (Available on request. Please phone for details)
- Recorded music
Readers Newsletter
We produce a Newsletter three times a year in large print format and on CD and audio-cassette to keep all our readers in touch with what is currently going on.
Reservations
We operate a FREE reservation service for any particular items which are required. Just contact one of our staff.
Residential Homes/ Sheltered Accomodation
Loans consisting of larger numbers of items can be delivered to community rooms in residential homes, sheltered accommodation and day centres by arrangement with local wardens or managers.
