Birmingham City Centre Floral Trail 2012

The Birmingham City Centre Partnership aims to create a city centre for Birmingham that is of a global standard. The Floral Trail helps us to achieve this objective and we are very proud to support this year’s Birmingham City Centre Floral Trail.

A section of the trail is included in Birmingham City Council’s entry in to the Heart of England in Bloom competition and the Judges made their visit on 19th July. Following the Gold Award in 2011, Birmingham was nominated for Britain in Bloom and the judging visit for the National competition will take place on Tuesday, 7th August.

The 2012 trail celebrates the sportsmen and women participating in the Olympic Games with 11 specially commissioned wicker figures including sprinters and gymnasts. There are 23 features in total. Birmingham’s Gold Medal winning display from the Chelsea Flower show and Gardeners’ World Live has been divided and placed in Centenary Square and St Martins Square. Other areas of interest include wildflowers and the experimental gardens. Weather permitting the Floral Trail will be maintained until mid to late September.
