Early Support Service for Pre-School Children with Special Educational Needs

This page tells you about the Early Support Service - the specialist home teaching for babies and young children (0-5) with complex learning and developmental difficulties, and support for their families.

We work with babies and young children who have difficulties affecting their learning and development in two or more of the following areas:

  • Language and communication
  • Learning and Play
  • Physical development
  • Social development and behaviour

Our purpose is to support each child’s learning and development and to help prepare them for when they move on to nursery or school. This will include advice and support about Education Health and Care Assessment where this is needed.
