The Blue Badge scheme provides a range of parking concessions for people with severe mobility problems who have difficulty using public transport. The badge enables holders to park close to where they need to go. The scheme operates throughout the UK, and is administered by Birmingham City Council who deal with applications and issue badges in Birmingham.

It is taking 4-6 weeks to process applications, so it is important that you complete the forms correctly, and send in the correct documents.
Please note that depending on the criteria under which you are applying, you may be asked to undergo an independent mobility assessment. You should apply in good time before your old badge expires to allow sufficient time for us to deal with your application and to order a new badge from the Blue Badge Improvement Service.
Once applications are assessed and approved, badges are issued by the Blue Badge Improvement Scheme (BBIS) and posted directly to you. Once approved, you should receive your Blue Badge within 5-7 working days.
If you have had a blue badge application turned down you can make an appeal within 10 days of receiving your decision.
