Lee Child

Lee Child

Lee Child is one of the world’s leading thriller writers and his novels consistently top the bestseller lists on both sides of the Atlantic. He is the creator of the popular Jack Reacher series (played by Tom Cruise) and has sold over 50 million Reacher books worldwide. Lee visited Birmingham Libraries as part of his UK tour in September 2012 to promote his latest Jack Reacher book A Wanted Man. Birmingham Libraries were delighted that Birmingham was chosen by Transworld Publishers (in partnership with The Reading Agency) to be the destination for their ‘Big City Read’.


S J Watson, at the launch in Birmingham, introducing his book Before I go to sleep which is the chosen novel for the Big City Read.

S J Watson visited Birmingham Libraries in February 2012 for a lively evening of questions and discussion about Before I go to sleep.


Ian Rankin

Ian Rankin visits Birmingham Libraries

The UK's best selling crime writer Ian Rankin headlined Birmingham Libraries Festival Fringe programme, which is now in its third year.

Birmingham Libraries were privileged to host the evening as Ian launched the publication of The Impossible Dead at the Library Theatre. Ian delighted readers who were given an insight into his work and particularly the Malcolm Fox series. One reader commented: "An excellent talk, vibrant and entertaining and very insightful. Its always nice to meet a 'hero' and get your book signed!"
