If you have previously received a red card you will remain on a sack and box collection and should only be using the form on this page to advise us that if you have purchased the green recycling collection service your green recycling wheelie bin / sacks have not been delivered or the wrong number of bins/set of sacks have been delivered.

If you want further information, to purchase the green recycling chargeable collection service, or to purchase an additional green recycling collection service go to our web page at www.birmingham.gov.uk/greenrecycling. Please do not use the form on this page to request an additional green recycling collection service.

Please do not select the following enquiry types within the form as these are inactive at this current time and we will be unable to respond to you:

  • Additional Recycling Bin
  • Green Card Enquiry
  • Red Card Enquiry

Essential Information
  • We will be unable to deal with this type of enquiry after 25 April 2014 as we will be deploying wheelie bins across the Ladywood District and we would ask that you continue with the bins we have delivered until 31 July 2014 and submit your request after this date.

  • If you have received a green card between advising you that we will be providing you with a wheelie bin collection service and you contact us after 25 April 2014 to challenge this assessment, we will not respond to this enquiry because you will have missed the “cut off” date and we are planning our delivery schedules and crew rounds based on the existing assessment.

  • If you have between 6-8 people in your household and want to request a larger refuse wheelie bin use the form above. You must have enough room to store the larger bin. • If you want to opt out of receiving a waste collection service from the Council use the form above to tell us. If you opt out of the waste collection service we will not collect your household rubbish, mixed recycling materials or green recycling, if you have subscribed to the service and you will need to make your own arrangements to dispose of your waste. If you opt out of our service you must take your waste to your local household recycling centre.

  • Important information.

If you wish to cancel your greenr recycling service within 7 calendar days of receiving green recycling bin(s)/ green recycling sacks.

We will only process refunds if you cancel your green recycling service within 7 calendar days from the day you received your bin/sacks. Please refer to the full terms and conditions delivered with your bin/sacks (page 5).

If we confirm the bin(s)/sacks delivery was made over 7 days ago, you will not be eligible for a refund and we will take no further action.

If you are within the 7 calendar day cancellation period you will receive your refund as soon as the wheelie bin(s) sacks have been collected.

This is a non-transferable service, i.e. customer moving address.

If you are unhappy with the quality of the green recycling collection service provided and this is a one-off or isolated service failure we will not consider making a refund. We will only consider making a refund if there is a total service failure.

Total Service Failure is if we:

    • fail to deliver a green recycling wheelie bin/sacks within 6 weeks from the date when you should have had your first collection in any calendar year
    • fail to replace a green recycling wheelie bin within 6 weeks of the date on which we reported that we had damaged the wheelie bin
    • without reasonable cause, fail to collect a green recycling wheelie bin/sacks on 3 consecutive collections cycles.

In the above circumstances we will offer a refund.

Disputing Administration and Delivery Charge for Replacement Wheelie Bins/Green Recycling Sacks

We will only consider refunding the £20.00 administration and delivery charge for replacement wheelie bins / sacks which are missing or have been damaged in exceptional circumstances.

You must provide full details of your exceptional circumstances and record them in the form.

  • Some properties have been assessed as suitable for wheelie bins but collections cannot reasonably be made from directly outside the property. In these circumstances we have identified other collection and return points that you will be required to use. These are known as presentation points.

The decision that the property is suitable for wheelie bins and requires a presentation point has been made by the appropriate Operational Depot.

From week commencing 12 May 2014 some households will be notified that they need to present their household rubbish and mixed materials recycling wheelie bins at a Presentation Point when the new collection service commences at the end of June 2014.

If your property has been assessed as suitable for the wheelie bin collection service and you have been advised that you have a presentation point you must take your bins to the presentation point identified on the map you received with your letter.

Your wheelie bins MUST be put out for collection at the Presentation Point no earlier than 3.30 pm on the day before your collection and no later than 6.00 am on the day of collection, failure to put your bins out within these timelines will result in your waste not being collected.

The crew will return the wheelie bins, once emptied, to the Presentation Point. You must take your wheelie bins from the Presentation Point to your property as soon as you are able to do so once your bins have been emptied.

If, in your opinion, you feel the presentation point raises a Health and Safety issue, select the button at the top of this page and select presentation point from the drop down list in the e-form and provide as much detailed information as you can.

Upon receipt we will arrange for an Officer to investigate and respond to your enquiry.

Your wheelie bins will be delivered with a temporary identification sticker. However, to help prevent the bins from going missing, we strongly advise that you permanently mark your bins with your house number or other identification. This is important as your bins maybe one of several at the Presentation Point.

  • If you have received a red card advising you that you are remaining on a sack collection service and you you contact us after 25 April 2014 to challenge this assessment, we will not respond to this enquiry because you will have missed the “cut off” date and we are planning our delivery schedules and crew rounds based on the existing assessment.

  • Only use the form above if you are advising us that you have received the incorrect number of recycling wheelie bins/ green recycling sacks.
