Here at Cityserve, we’re always looking to recognise amazing colleagues and we’re delighted to celebrate Gemma Sewell’s fantastic achievements.

In February 2017 a new production kitchen was opened at Hall Green Junior School and Gemma at the time a general assistant, expressed an interest in taking the deputy cooks role on. Since taking this appointment she has been very proactive in developing the menu through engaging the pupils and trying new dishes.

Gemma  has developed a superb relationship with the school, working very closely to get the operation up and running, and also continuing to develop the service to meet the needs of the school. Nothing has been too much trouble for her and she is always willing to go the extra mile. This has been recognised by comments made to the head teacher by parents on how the children are enjoying the meals.

The Head Teacher said “ we are really pleased with Gemma – nothing is too much trouble, Gemma is very proactive in looking at ways to improve the menu and meal experience for the pupils, this has been reflected in the positive feedback we have had from parents since the kitchen opened”

The School Business Manager comments “we are thrilled that Gemma has taken to this role with real enthusiasm, nothing seems to phase her. She is a pleasure to work with. She is proactive in her thoughts and actions and liaises well with myself and the Head teacher”.
