Ida has worked for Cityserve for 37 years, working at many units and is currently a Mobile Catering Supervisor for the South West area supporting  her commercial  field chefs. She is a great asset , promoting Cityserve at every opportunity.

Healthy Eating is promoted by giving more variety, meeting with parents, providing tasters and working towards the Food Standards Agency standards.

The aim  for the schools that Ida works with is, for fresh produce to be utilised as much as possible , to offer value for money and to promote healthy eating.

In the last 12 months Ida has achieved an increased uptake in school meals on the area, she has introduced healthier options, better, fresher products plus baking from fresh.

She has also attended parent lunches, live engagements, BBQS, healthy eating assemblies. school council meetings, taster days and arranged for both staff  and children’s surveys, to gather feedback on the meals, menus & taster sessions.

When Ida is in a unit she always goes out to the dining hall at lunch time and asks for feedback from the pupils and when serving on the counter encourages them to try new things.

Ida supports our Catering Supervisors by working closely with them, helping them with audits, training, laptop issues, Saffron, Menu creation and development and attendance at school  meetings.

Every school Ida goes to, asks ‘can we keep her’, our catering supervisors also think highly of her.
