Bellfield Junior School’s visit to CityKitchen LIVE!

Bellfield

We had the pleasure of welcoming Bellfield Junior School to our learning and development kitchen on 28th February.

Chef Wayne and Chef Christine had lots of fun with the students informing them of the importance of vegetables in their diet. The chef’s encouraged them to taste new freshly prepared vegetables including peppers, broccoli and even raw cauliflower! They introduced the children to fresh herbs, such as mint, basil and thyme and they were encouraged to smell, touch and taste them.

Lunch was then prepared – the students freshly handmade pizza which they enjoyed in the boardroom.
After lunch it was time for ice-cream sundaes. Lots of fresh-fruit was used to create their own individual desserts.

The students left City Kitchen Live more informed about nutrition and discovered new taste sensations!

The school was delighted to feedback:
“Just wanted to say a massive thank you to yourself, Christine and Wayne for working with our year 3 children today. The children, myself , Julie and Rob had a fantastic time and the Knickerbocker Glories were fantastic. I will be speaking with my head teacher, Nigel Attwood, to see if we can arrange to bring another group of children to your kitchen again.
Many thanks again.”
