You can register here www.laca.co.uk/scoty and find all the information you need on this year’s competition including the rules, entry criteria and the entry forms on the LACA website. The first stage is to register your organisation to take part in the competition – the deadline for registrations is Friday 29th September 2017.

The next step is to work with your chefs to prepare their menus – a main course and dessert with an ingredient cost of £1.30 per head – and send their recipes in to the judges. The deadline for this is Friday 20th October 2017.  The paper judging round will take place in the following week with the regional finals being held in November 2017 and January 2018.

The ten regional finalists will then go head to head on Thursday 8th March at Stratford Upon Avon College to determine this year’s LACA School Chef of the Year, announced in a presentation dinner that evening.

There is a prize of £1000 on offer to the winner, plus a work experience trip to an overseas school and a host of activities representing LACA and competition sponsor Maggi from Nestle Professional as School Chef of the Year.  There are also two runner up prizes of £500 for 2nd place and £300 for 3rd place at the national final.
