 | | Creating a brighter future for children and young people |
Children's centres provide multi-agency services to meet the needs of
young children under five years old and their families. They contribute
towards ensuring that there is the best start in life for every child,
better opportunities for parents, affordable, good quality childcare and
a stronger and safer community.
Services offered will include:

Early education with full day care, including provision for children
with special educational needs and ordisabilities

Parental outreach

Family support, including support for parents with
special needs

Health Services

Links with out-of-school clubs, extended schools,
Children's
Information Services

A base for childminders
-
A service hub within the community for parents and
providers of
childcare services

Links with Jobcentre Plus and training providers
The Government's long-term aspiration is that all children in all
communities have access to children’s centre services. To date there are
75 children's centres in Birmingham offering the above services.
