B.STRONG is a city-wide organisation that provides organisational development support and capacity building training to voluntary organisations and community groups. It is part of the Community and Play section of the Local Services directorate and based at Ladywood Arts and Leisure Centre.
B.STRONG Mission statement:
B.STRONG will:
- Provide opportunities to build and strengthen community group structures and procedures
- Enable community groups to contribute towards meeting the needs of their neighbourhoods
- Support groups in taking effective action and a lead role in their communities
Who can access B.STRONG training courses?
B.STRONG work with the Voluntory and Community Sector and as such we invite the following participants to our training
- Management Committee Members
- Staff within Voluntary Sector
- Active Volunteers and Service Users
In order to access B.STRONG services organisations are required to become BSTRONG members which is free of charge. For a membership form, please click on the Affiliation Form attachment below to download the word document, fill in the form and send it to B.STRONG.
Birmingham Strong Communities Partnership
Funded by the Capacity Builders until March 2011, B.STRONG is working in partnership with the Digbeth Trust and Birmingham New Communities Network (BNCN)to deliver the project. This project aims to provide a range of capacity building services to 'excluded' communities in Birmingham, in particular, the refugee, migrant and black and ethnic minority communities in Birmingham. Our Organisational Development workers will be working 1-1 with groups and providing workshops to help the development of organisations.

The newsletter keeps member organisations in touch with all the latest news for Voluntary and Community groups on funding streams, success stories, changes in the legislations, training opportunities and so on.
