PRODUCTION Exhibition at Library of Birmingham
Behind the Scenes at Birmingham Repertory Theatre
PRODUCTION tells the story of a theatre as a manufacturing organisation - the theatre craftsmanship that operates behind the scenes, from the making to the workers, the materials to the finished props.
Documentary photographer Fraser McGee was given access to all areas of Birmingham Repertory Theatre in 2018. During this time he shot hundreds of black and white images capturing the vast amount of usually unseen work that goes into bringing theatre to life in the city’s only producing theatre and one of the biggest in the country.
Now some of these images can be seen in a free exhibition on the Ground Floor of the Library of Birmingham.
