Let's Ride Birmingham - Sunday 9 June

On Sunday 9 June roads in Birmingham will be closed to traffic for HSBC UK Let's Ride - a FREE cycling festival for everyone. There’s lots to do – from fun activities and challenges for the whole family to music, local street food and live stunt shows.
Come along and enjoy seeing your city from the saddle. You don’t have to do the full distance – just as much or as little as you want. You don’t need to be an experienced cyclist. There will be no cars on the road, so you can wobble, zig-zag and stop as much as you like. It’s free, fun and the perfect activity for the whole family.

So, what are you waiting for? Register your FREE place today!

If you'd like to ride to the event with others, check out friendly group rides on the Let's Ride website - including rides along the new A34 cycle route from Birchfield and the new A38 route from Selly Oak.

Selly Oak to city centre cycle route (A38)

With the A38 blue cycle route opening in June and the A34 route already open, cycling continues to become a better travel option for many more people. We're encouraging everyone to leave the car at home a little more often and give cycling a go.
If you need to drive, always look out for people on bikes and give them plenty of space. Road layouts along the new blue cycle routes have changed and our message to drivers is:

'Think BLUE, let cyclists through'

Always abide by the give way markings at side roads and central reservations. Download our new driver awareness guide.

To coincide with the HSBC UK Let’s Ride Birmingham event on 9 June, there will be a celebration of all the works carried out as part of Birmingham Cycle Revolution, including a launch of the new A34 and A38 cycle routes.

Lock your bike

New cycle parking facilities are available across Birmingham. Lock your bike securely with a strong lock to ensure you've always got a ride home.

Many visitor venues have secure cycle parking facilities, including Edgbaston Stadium, so if you're heading to one of the ICC Cricket World Cup matches, save money and time by travelling by bike.

Better Streets Community Fund

West Midlands Combined Authority is offering the opportunity to apply for funding to improve local communities. This could include improvements for cycling, walking and road safety.
